Established by Mr. Giuseppe Alazio and by his last will and testament. It’s a non profit Foundation, looking to reach only the aims like a public utility and social solidarity.
The foundation operates in the field of the scientific research, through the assignment of the scholarships and the promotion of the research programs aimed at increasing the knowledge and treatment of the neoplasia.
Operating from 1996, the Foundation is supported by the Board of Directors and its components according to the statute. The Board of Directors is nominated for a five year renewable practice and rotation designated from Boards of the Professionals Counselors of Palermo and from University of Palermo. Presently the President of the Foundation is advocate Carmine Caprì.
Activity
The Foundation “ Giuseppe Alazio” has been working already 10 years in the engagement of a fundamental goal to help with direct or transversal interventions, but has been always tightly focused for the scientific and medical research, for the knowledge and the treatment of neoplasia.
For this purpose Foundation Giuseppe Alazio rewards young people, who has been working on the medical and biomedical research and who are keen to develop and study projects in Italy and abroad against cancer.
For this reason the Foundation is presenting also an instrument which is putting together some medical and scientific skills and experiences, about specific themes of the biomedical research against the neoplasia.
Every year, like a proper distinctive activity, the Foundation creates Scholarships, which are assigned to the actors of the surgical and medical research against cancer, who are searching the etiology and the therapies of this disease.
The scholarships are destined to promote a research project, that is lasting up to 2 years and its taking place at an institute,at a research center, a laboratory or
a famous clinic center, in Italy or abroad.
In addition the Foundation Alazio has been working as a training instrument which is promoting the connections and comparison between professionalism of the medical and scientific skills like organization of the seminars and training studies for the specific aspect of the cancer treatment. They are destined by professionals inside the world of the research, by politics and by institutions.
